  • White Cliff Minerals (WCN) has uncovered strong historical drill results ahead of a maiden mineral resource estimate for the Reedy South Gold Project in WA
  • The results so far have highlighted the promise of the King Cole prospect, with strong, near-surface mineralisation peaking at 4.13 grams per tonne (g/t) gold
  • The resource estimate is being undertaken by Auralia Mining Consulting, which also completed the rock chip sampling as part of its due diligence
  • Two of the four samples returned positive results grading up to 12.5g/t
  • Once the resource estimate is complete, a reverse circulation drilling program is planned to expand upon the known resource at depth
  • White Cliff Minerals is up a staggering 55.2 per cent in early trade, worth 4.5 cents per share

White Cliff Minerals (WCN) has uncovered strong historical drilling results ahead of a maiden mineral resource estimate for the Reedy South Gold Project in WA.

Promising prospect

White Cliff is conducting a desktop study of historical exploration results, and will also include recent rock chip samples to incorporate into the resource estimate.

The results so far have highlighted the promise of the King Cole prospect, which will be further probed in an upcoming 2000-to-3000-metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program.

Historical drilling conducted by Wakeford Holdings in 2010 found strong, near-surface mineralisation peaking at 20 metres at 4.13 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from two metres, including three metres at 11.33 g/t from 5 metres.

Four holes were drilled, with each returning samples of at least 2.68g/t.

The resource estimate is being undertaken by Auralia Mining Consulting, which completed the rock chip sampling as part of its due diligence.

Four samples were taken from in and around the historical Pegasus shaft and trench line, with two samples returning significant results of 12.5g/t and 1.98g/t.

White Cliff Technical director Ed Mead says the results confirm the project’s promise.

“The results from this small drilling program at King Cole are pleasing for two reasons: the grade (including from near surface) is always great to see, but as importantly, the drilling data provides further evidence that the mineralisation is near vertical at the King Cole and Pegasus prospects,” Ed said.

“This is the same as what we can see going on at Triton – South Emu less than 600 metres up the road, and it gives us confidence of extending known mineralisation at depth through drilling,” he added.

Next steps

Reedy South covers 156 square kilometres of the highly prospective Cue goldfields, including one kilometre of strike along the prolific Reedy Shear Zone.

Auralia and White Cliff will continue working towards the maiden mineral resource estimate.

Once that is complete, the RC drilling program is planned to expand upon the known resource at depth.

White Cliff Minerals is up a staggering 55.2 per cent in early trade, worth 4.5 cents per share.
