White Cliff Minerals (WCN) has wrapped up the first round of drilling at its Hines Hill project in Western Australia.

The rare earth element project is in the Wheatbelt region of WA and spans 128 square kilometres.

The company completed 49 aircore drill holes for 1861 metres to test a magnetic feature in the north east part of the project, identified through prior sampling work.

A total of 716 samples were taken from the drill holes.

WCN also expanded its geochemical sampling program across Hines Hill to its adjoining North Kellerberrin project.

Here, a further 1044 samples were collected and together with the drill samples, have been submitted for assaying.

At the same time, the company is progressing a high resolution magnetic and radiometric survey across its Yinnetharra project and expects to be back on the ground early next month.

WCN shares were up 2.9 per cent trading at 1.8 cents at 11:25 am AEDT.
