3D Resources (DDD) is progressing its drilling program at the Adelong Goldfield in southern New South Wales.

Earlier this month, the company contracted DRC Drilling to complete an initial 12-hole reverse circulation (RC) program at the Challenger Gold Project.

Eleven of the holes are designed to infill existing drilling to potentially optimise a mine plan and better understand the transition from an open pit to underground mining operation.

The 12th hole will be drilled within the planned open cut mine and aims to provide more data on the nature of the waste rock that’s expected to be generated from mining operations.

So far, the company has drilled 768 metres including five fully-drilled holes and the sixth is nearing completion.

“It is good to see the RC program at Adelong running smoothly, with all the holes reaching target depths and without any delays. We retain a positive view that this drilling program will provide the detailed information on resources needed to expand the potential development at Challenger,” Managing Director Peter Mitchell said.

In addition, 3D Resources visited other ‘prime’ targets at the Adelong Goldfield which revealed the Caledonian Gold Project area is accessible. In light of this, the company is planning to extend the current drilling program to include five holes, for 810 metres, at the Caledonian Gold Project.

Company shares were up 11.1 per cent and were trading at 0.5 cents at 12:39 pm AEST.
