Kingwest Resources (KWR) has received additional results from ongoing diamond core drilling of the Central Zone at the Menzies Gold Project in WA.

Results received to date have returned high-grade intercepts at the Yunndaga and Lady Shenton prospects.

Yunndaga

A total of eight holes were completed at Yunndaga with seven designed to test for remnant mineralisation in and around the upper levels of the Princess May Shoot.

Best results include 0.75 metres at 33.47g/t gold from 108.20 metres including 0.30 metres at 79.40g/t gold from 108.65 metres.

The remaining hole was drilled beneath the lowest level of the Princess May and returned a result of 1.03 metres at 25.40g/t gold from 733.47 metres.

This is significant because it proves that high-grade mineralisation continues at depth.

Two lines will now be drilled from this hole to test it further.

Lady Shenton

Unfortunately, deep diamond core testing was partially ineffective at the Lady Shenton Prospect due to the discovery of a fault that has offset part of it.

However, the diamond core drilling did allow a precise outline of the fault and enables the nature of the offset to be predicted.

Kingwest believes this has been located and will be followed-up in future drilling programs.

Best intersections from this prospect include 0.94 metres at 36.60g/t gold from 172.66 metres, and 1 metre at 9.11g/t gold from 375 metres.

“The Yunndaga deep drilling has considerably extended high-grade gold beneath the historic workings,” CEO Ed Turner commented.

“Yunndaga is significant because it was the deepest and largest producing gold mine in the Menzies Gold Project (MGP), with underground production of 270,000 ounces of gold at 16g/t,” he said.

“Our vision is to prove that the MGP holds much more very high-grade gold is coming together and this is a very exciting time in Kingwest’s evolution,” he added.

Kingwest has ended the day 6.67 per cent in the red and shares trading for 14 cents each in an $18.28 million market cap.
