Aerial mapping company Aerometrex (AMX) has opened its MetroMap 3D online store.

This store allows customers to access and purchase Aerometrex’s growing 3D modelling data products.

Customers are able to purchase specific 3D datasets in addition to the existing 2D imagery and 3D model data.

MetroMap is Aerometrex’s aerial imagery subscription service that offers high-quality and accurate imagery to subscribers in both 2D and 3D.

Users can see both up-to-date and historical maps to develop projects and plan new buildings.

This adds onto Aerometrex’s MetroMap LiDAR data, which is already available for online purchase.

LiDAR uses millions of laser pointer measurements to build a model of the ground, specifically of vegetation and infrastructure.

“The launch of the MetroMap 3D Store is an exciting development for sales of our world-leading 3D modelled data. It enables smaller clients, specifically small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and individuals to access the 3D data they need quickly,” Managing Director Mark Deuter commented.

“This new product solution by Aerometrex meets the requirements of the company’s customers at their time and point of need and supports us to truly penetrate the large SME market opportunity with a no-touch sales approach,” he said.

“We see further avenues to enhance our product offering, with a development path to offer Digital Terrain Model and Digital Surface Model on the same online store, as well as artificial intelligence-derived analytics,” he added.

Aerometrex is up a slight 1.36 per cent on the market with shares trading at $1.12 at 3:20 pm AEDT.
