Alta Zinc’s (AZI) international drilling company Edilmac SRL has restarted underground drilling operations at the Pian Bracca Zone.
Pian Bracca forms part of the Gorno Zinc Project in northern Italy, where lead, zinc and silver deposits have previously been discovered.
A new campaign
The initial 18-hole program will test high-priority targets located to the north, south, and west of previously identified mineralisation.
Drilling will trend west from Pian Bracca towards the Zorzone Resource area to test the extent of mineralisation.
Additionally, holes that were drilled before COVID-19 closures have now been sent to the laboratory for analysis.
Results will be announced once they have been fully analysed.
Further, Alta Zinc’s geology team is continuing with surface and underground sampling to identify additional high priority mineralisation.
“Our team has been working on-site throughout May and June to both extend our regional exploration knowledge and identify additional high priority targets close to the Pian Bracca and Ponente areas,” Managing Director Geraint Harris said.
“Our recent successful capital raise and the rapid restart of our drilling puts us in a good position to generate strong news-flow while we continue to expand the extent of known mineralisation at Gorno,” he added.
Alta Zinc is steady on the market and shares have been trading for 0.6 cents each since July 6.
