  • Results received from air-core drilling at the Cashman, Feather Cap and Horseshoe Well prospects
  • A total of 57 holes were completed at all the prospects in an aim to evaluate historical and recent geophysical and geochemical targets
  • Identified targets will be incorporated into a gold prospectivity review

West Australian explorer Auris Minerals has received results from the regional air-core drilling campaign completed at its Bryah Basin prospects.

A total of 57 AC holes, for 3593 metres, were completed at the Cashman, Feather Cap and Horseshoe Well projects to evaluate several historical and recent geophysical and geochemical targets.

The completed drilling targeted gold and copper mineralisation with significant gold results being returned from composite samples.

These include 88 metres at 0.41g/t gold from 92 metres, and 60 metres at 0.98g/t gold from 64 metres.

The total number of drill holes was reduced to keep the program within budget and on time as the average depth of the holes was greater than the expected 50 metres.

A total of 18 holes, for 1158 metres, was completed at the Cashman project to test areas of VTEM and magnetic anomalism.

Two drill lines, 13 holes for 728 metres, were completed in the west of the tenement to evaluate VTEM and magnetic anomalism associated with the interpreted contact between the Johnson Cairn Formation sediments and Narracoota Formation volcanic.

An additional one drill line, five holes for 430 metres, was completed in the eastern portion of the tenement to test a VTEM anomaly and intersecting ultramafic lithologies of the Narracoota Formation.

The drilling intersected a zone of preferential weathering which is interpreted to be a zone of faulting or shearing and also interpreted to be the source of the VTEM anomaly.

A significant result of four metres at 0.41g/t gold from 88 metres was returned with the weathered zone in the centre of the drill line. This zone is planned for further instigative work.

At Feather Cap a total of 30 holes, for 1710 metres, was completed to evaluate the geology associated with historic workings which returned historic gold assays in rock chip results up to 3.42g/t.

It also tested subtle copper-gold anomalism identified from multi-element analysis of previous auger drilling.

AC drilling, 11 holes for 906 metals, tested areas of subtle copper-gold anomalism that were identified from previous geochemical auger drilling.

The drilling was completed over two lines with holes spaced 140 metres apart each line.

The eastern line confirmed the geological interpretations by intersecting ultramafic lithologies of the Narracoota Formation and the northern line intersected ultramafic with minor dolerite. of the Narracoota Formation.

A single hole was drilled in the south west corner to evaluate a spot high gold result of 102ppb. This hole intersected abundant quartz veining and returned a significant result of four metres at 0.94g/t gold from 60 metres.

Auris intends to further investigate this area.

A total of nine holes, 725 metres, was completed at Horseshoe Well to test areas of VTEM anomalism and areas of interpreted Narracoota Formation.

Drilling intersected sediments of the Ravelstone Formation and ranged from shales and siltstones to medium to coarse grained greywackes (variety of sandstone).

No significant results were received from the drilling program.

The limited and wide drilling at Cashman and Feather Cap has returned encouraging results with further drilling required to evaluate the extent and orientation of the mineralisation.

The identified gold targets will be incorporated into a review of the gold prospectively and Auris intends to release the highlights from this review once completed.
