Australasian Metals (A8G) has started reverse circulation (RC) drilling at priority targets within its Mt Clermont and Capella projects in Central Queensland.

The drill program will focus on the Ayres prospect at Capella and the Retro Extended prospect at Mt Clermont.

At Retro Extended, the company discovered further target areas from field investigation, gold-in-rock samples, and historical drilling.

Historical drilling at Capella has identified high-grade gold mineralisation, which the company plans to test.

Managing Director Dr Qingtao Zeng said he is eager to see the outcome from the drilling.

“Both the Capella and Mt Claremont projects have been subject to historical drilling that has proven the high-grade tenor of mineralisation, which we hope to extend at depth and along strike through this program,” he said.

“We believe there are several high-grade gold targets and potential parallel mineralised structures at shallow depth.

“The potential results of this program could support the delineation of a maiden JORC compliant resource estimate.”

Shares were trading 3 per cent higher today at 51.5 cents each at 12:30 pm AEST.
