Australian Primary Hemp (APH) and Central West Packing and Storage (CWPS) have signed an agreement which will see CWPS exclusively supply all hemp used in its products to APH.

The companies have agreed to collaborate on developing new products and to explore further opportunities, including a growing off-take relationship, under a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

CWPS, trading as “Freshwater Brands” is an Australian personal care manufacturer that has been operating for nearly three decades.

Freshwater Brands produces locally-sourced skincare, hair care and other personal care products which contain only natural and sustainable ingredients.

Its existing products include a Hemp Seed Oil Hydrating Body Bar and Hemp Seed Oil Hydrating Wash – both of which are distributed nationally by Woolworths.

These products are also both contractually due to launch across Chemist Warehouse’s national stores from January 2020.

This agreement aligns with APH’s sustainability and Australian grown ethos. It will also see the company fulfilling CWPS’ product requirements with its existing hemp oil product.

“The combination of APH Hemp and Freshwater Farm hemp seed oil products brings together APH’s high quality, Australian-sourced hemp with Freshwater Farms’ highly regarded hemp seed oil products,” APH Chief Operating Officer James Hood.

“Freshwater is focused on developing quality, all Australian sourced products that are ethically made, cruelty-free and vegan-friendly. We’re delighted to be working with APH, a company that shares our passion for quality Australian-made products,” Allan Hutcherson, General Manager of Freshwater Brands’ subsidiary Freshwater Farm Australia.

Given the initial stages of forming the partnership, neither party is certain on volumes.

Australian Primary Hemp is up 17.7 per cent with shares trading for 20 cents each at 3:54 pm AEDT.
