CIMIC Group company, CPB Contractors are the official contractor for the new Christchurch Metro Sports Facility Stadium.

CPB Construction is set to pocket more than NZ$221 million in revenue, with the facility set to host a 10 lane swimming pool, a swim leisure area and nine indoor basketball and netball courts.

It is expected to hold more than 3,500 spectators at any given time and will become the largest aquatic and indoor recreation and community venue in New Zealand.

“This project continues CPB Contractors’ long track record of providing important infrastructure in New Zealand,” CIMIC Group Chief Executive Officer Michael Wright said.

CPB Construction is currently working on the Christchurch Hospital Acute Services Building and the Te Pac Christchurch convention and exhibition centre.

“As a leading construction company in New Zealand, CPB Contractors draws on the local experience and international expertise to deliver leading infrastructure projects providing the sustained local and economic facility,” CPB Contractors Managing Director Juan Santamaria said.

Construction is expected to begin in May 2019 and be completed by late 2021.
