Classic Minerals (CLZ) has received results for another 32 holes of its infill reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Kat Gap project in Western Australia.

The infill RC holes in the 109-hole program are being drilled on 10-metre-by-10-metre and 10-metre-by-five-metre spacings to hit further high-grade “pinch and swell” quartz veins, which were seen when the bulk sample pit was mined.

More broadly, the drilling program aims to provide more accurate resource model data for final pit optimisation and design work.

The newest assays come from holes drilled up the northern end of the infill target area, which mostly focused on an area between 100 and 300 metres north along-strike of the cross-cutting Proterozoic dyke.

The latest batch of results returned grades of up to 47.5 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over one metre.

Additional results include two metres at 14.86 g/t gold from 29 metres including one metre at 25.5 g/t gold and six metres at 4.08 g/t gold from 48 metres including one metre at 11.5 g/t Au from 52 metres.

Classic Minerals said the results confirmed company observations, while the bulk sample pit was mined and showed that the selected drill spacing was adequate to hit the high-grade pinch and swell quartz zones.

The company is yet to complete 42 holes, which it said should take another three weeks, and assay results will be released to the market as they become available.

Classic shares were up 2.94 per cent to 1.8 cents at 10:56 am AEST.
