ClearVue Technologies (CPV) has released an improved product design of its ClearVue PV solar vision glass integrated glazing unit (IGU) and new integrated Solar Facade solutions.

The company’s testing has shown the new design will reduce the fabrication time for a finished IGU by over 90 per cent, resulting in cost savings and being able to scale production faster.

CPV has also increased the output of its solar clear vision glass IGU design to an average of 100 watts peak per square metre over an entire facade.

ClearVue claimed its new Solar Facade solutions extend energy generation across building facades through a combination of its patented transparent solar glazing, spandrel panels, and solar wall cladding panels.

ClearVue has also developed an integrated wiring system to streamline installation, reporting, and maintenance in facade deployments.

The company said it expects these new technologies to result in enhanced efficiency and a lower average cost per watt by more than 70 per cent, with a faster payback period on curtain wall and facade projects.

“The latest improvements to the ClearVue IGU design are a step-change for how ClearVue’s core product is manufactured offering significant reductions in fabrication time for our licensed manufacturers,” ClearVue Acting CEO and Executive Director Jamie Lyford said.

“The new ClearVue Solar Facade separately takes a dramatic step forward in commercial building sustainability and architectural design,” Mr Lyford said.

“Now, solar energy generation is possible across nearly every surface of the building envelope, and the extension of our product range expands the market by increasing the types and parts of buildings, which can be addressed by ClearVue products.”

The expected payback period for a complete Solar Facade Solution depends on the location or territory, but CPV has stated it’s now less than eight years compared to its 30-year expected product life.

The new ClearVue Solar Facade solution is set to be delivered to the market globally through a partner network of licensees, including glazing, curtain wall manufacturers, façade experts and consultants.

The product range will expand the market by increasing the types and parts of buildings that can be addressed by ClearVue products

The official launch is set to take place tonight at 6:00 pm GMT on May 18 at a private event in London.

CPV shares were up 14.3 per cent, trading at 20 cents at 11:55 am AEST.
