ClearVue Technologies (CPV) has signed a manufacturing and distribution agreement with U.S.-based Insulsteel Building Sciences.

Insulsteel is a leading manufacturer of steel-frame insulated construction roof and insulated panels.

It has been in operation for more than 20 years, selling its panels in South Carolina and Georgia.

“Insulsteel is very pleased to be working with ClearVue on the integration of ClearVue’s solar PV windows into our highly energy-efficient building system,” Insulsteel CEO Steve Bostic said.

“We are looking to significantly scale production of our own EcoShell panels throughout the U.S. and to manufacturing and including the ClearVue products and technology with this new push,” he added.

Under the five-year agreement, Insulsteel will secure all exclusive rights to sell and manufacture ClearVue’s insulated glass units (IGU) as part of its IntelAwall energy-efficient construction system.

However, Insulsteel will only be able to manufacture the IGU’s at approved manufacturing plants despite ClearVue being able to appoint additional manufacturers and distributors similar to Insulsteel.

Additionally, Insulsteel will purchase the IGUs from ClearVue until it has established its own manufacturing plant.

“Insulsteel is a leading design, engineering and construction innovation group that manufacturers and supplies highly energy-efficient constructions and will establish a plant to manufacture the ClearVue photovoltaic (PV) IGUs for direct inclusion into their own insulated walling system,” ClearVue Executive Chairman Victor Rosenberg commented.

“The highly insulate nature of the Insulsteel system, when combined with the highly insulate, energy-efficient and energy-generating features of ClearVue’s IGU design, make for an extremely energy-efficient building,” he added.

ClearVue has ended the day 10.3 per cent in the red with shares trading for 13 cents each in a $16.11 million market cap.
