Critical Resources (CRR) has intersected further visual massive and base metal sulphides intervals at its Gibsons project, part of the broader Halls Peak project in New South Wales.

The visual massive and base metal sulphides were intersected in hole 9 between 56.2 metres and 61.5 metres downhole.

The company also detected base metal sulphides at a previously undiscovered depth of 138 metres.

Critical claims the drill hole is a step-out hole and represents new mineralisation with results indicating further depth potential of the Halls Peak system.

Cores from previously reported drilling are being assayed at the ALS laboratory in Brisbane with results expected in the short term.

The company says the presence of minor base metal sulphides in the interval from 132.6 to 138.1 metres extends the down hole depth of the known base metal exhalative system.

The company also says this indicates potential for discovery of further massive sulphide lodes both laterally and at depth.

Drilling has recommenced at Gibsons following the Christmas break, with around 2,500 metres planned including a subsequent 3-hole drill program at Sunnyside for approximately 1,700 metres.

The company says the holes are designed to confirm near surface mineralisation and deeper targets to a maximum depth of up to 500 metres.

Shares were in the grey at 8.9 cents at 11.09 am AEDT.
