Influencer marketing specialist Crowd Media Holdings (CM8) has purchased an 8 per cent interest in Forever Holdings.

In return for the 8 per cent stake, Crowd will pay Forever £200,000 (around A$365,000) worth of cash, shares and services.

Forever Holdings is based in London and is a ‘leading edge’ voice and visual interactive digital media company.

Crowd Media says this strategic investment is to accelerate its conversational commerce strategy, which it believes will be the future of influencer marketing.

Conversational commerce is direct communication between a brand or business and its customer, through instant digital messages that are shared on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, iMessage, Alexa and many more.

Forever’s technology allows influencers to connect with their followers through a virtual facetime setting. This technology will complement Crowd’s own Q&A Chatbot, which creates online conversations in multiple languages.

By combining the technologies, Crowd said it can speed up the development of its “talking head” digital influencer. This will open up numerous commercial opportunities across the entertainment, sport, influencer marketing, health and educational fields.

“This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the execution of the company’s strategic vision,” the company told the market in a statement.

“As outlined at the November 2019 AGM, when we highlighted Crowd’s mission to develop the holy grail of influencer marketing: a platform that enables conversational commerce between follower and influencer, augmented with a digital visual “talking head” experience,” it added.

Crowd Media is up 4.55 per cent at the close of market this afternoon and is trading for 2.3 cents per share.
