Estrella Resources (ESR) is set to kick off follow up drilling at the T5 prospect within its Carr Boyd project in Western Australia.

It comes as drilling contractor, Top Drive Australia, mobilised a diamond drill rig to the site to test extensions to the T5 mineralisation along strike and at depth.

The work will initially test down-hole electromagnetic (EM) plates generated from earlier drill testing.

Previous down hole transient electro-magnetic surveys have been useful, according to Managing Director Chris Daws, in targeting extensions to high-grade massive nickel and copper sulphides at T5.

The EM plates lead away from this mineralisation and Mr Daws said this round of drilling will determine the significance of the plates.

However, Estrella notes mineralisation is not always identifiable from surface EM or DHTEM and as such. additional drill holes will be completed to test specific areas of interest.

The drill rig will be commissioned over the coming days. It reportedly has a high level of automation and increased safety aspects which the company expects will improve performance and operability, resulting in improved drilling rates.

Company shares were trading 5.26 per cent in the green at two cents at 11:36 am AEST.
