Element 25 (E25) has partnered with sustainable supply chain traceability provider, Circulor, to trace manganese products from the Butcherbird project in Western Australia.

The UK company has a global footprint and enables businesses to analyse, track, and manage supply chains to ensure responsible sourcing and improve sustainability.

The collaborative partnership will track and trace the current manganese concentrate products from Butcherbird, as well as the planned production of high-purity manganese sulphate battery materials to be manufactured through the downstream processing of Butcherbird manganese concentrate.

As demand grows for critical minerals in Lithium-ion batteries industry and electric vehicles, Element 25 acknowledges an increasing awareness of the impacts associated with extractive industries, including the supply of raw materials.

The company is seeking to target a zero-carbon footprint for the project and achieve a cleaner, lower carbon flowsheet and high penetration renewable energy, which it believes will put Butcherbird at the forefront of sustainable high purity manganese production.

This new partnership allows E25 to demonstrate traceability and environmental, social and governance standards compliance for its manganese products, including the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals and the European Commission’s Battery Regulation.

Managing Director Justin Brown said this reinforces the company’s commitment to forging a pathway to Zero Carbon Manganese production from the Butcherbird Project.

“The collaboration between Circulor and Element 25 is a fantastic example of the way the minerals industry is evolving to provide better traceability and accountability as it works tirelessly to provide the new energy sector with sustainable raw materials to power the global energy transition away from fossil fuels.”

At midday trade, shares were up 7.34 per cent to $1.39 at 12:44 pm AEDT.
