Emerge Gaming’s (EM1) MTN Arena platform has reached 10,000 new subscribers.

MTN Arena is a subscription-based competition and tournament platform that allows casual gamers to enter competitions, win prizes and earn raffles tickets.

The company began phase one of a marketing campaign last week in South Africa. This campaign involved social media influencers promoting MTN Arena to their followers. Shortly after, the MTN Arena platform achieved 10,000 new subscribers, which is a testament to the campaign’s effectiveness.

“We are delighted with the initial platform metrics and performance of MTN Arena. The MTN Arena platform is demonstrating stability and scaling consistent with our prelaunch test results,” CEO Gregory Stevens said.

MTN Arena generates revenue through a daily subscription fee against mobile subscriber accounts when they subscribe to the platform.

The value proposition is that subscribers will pay three South African Rand per day (roughly A$0.26 per day, or A$7.80 per month) to enter competitions involving their favourite mobile social games, earn rewards and win prizes valued at 100,000 South African Rand per month (roughly A$8500) across the tournaments offered.

“We are commencing our plans to roll out our tournament technology across a number of MTN’s other country operations to access a larger number of its 250 million mobile subscriber base internationally,” Gregory stated.

“Discussions are being held with other mobile network operators across a number of other markets to drive mass deployment of the platform,” he added.

Over the next few months, Emerge will continue monitoring and reporting on the performance metrics of the MTN Arena platform.

Company shares are trading flat at three cents each at 11:36 am AEST.
