Emmerson Resources (ERM) has intersected visual gold and copper through phase two drilling at its Hermitage project in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory.

The observations come from HERCDD010 which was drilled as an angled scissor hole to test beneath the post mineral fault encountered in HERC003 and HERCDD005.

The latest drill hole intersected four main zones of mineralisation including malachite (copper carbonate), native copper, free disseminated gold and a new zone of chalcopyrite and bornite in quartz stockwork veins.

Positively, the HERCDD010 results confirm that copper mineralisation continues at depth.

Managing Director Rob Bills said the Hermitage project is “shaping up as one of the most exciting projects” and shows similarities to a significant gold and copper discovery.

“New zones of mineralisation continue to be intersected with this latest drill hole intersecting visible gold, plus a new zone copper mineralisation below the fault that truncated the previous high-grade gold and copper in discovery drill hole HERCDD003,” Mr Bills said.

“Furthermore, there are now three distinct targets at Hermitage that include shallow copper in the oxide zone, gold associated with massive hematite and primary copper mineralisation below the fault hosted in breccias, stockwork veins and fractures.”

Drilling at the Hermitage project is ongoing and the company expects to receive first drill results in July.

ERM shares were up 4.17 per cent to trade at 10 cents at 2:20 pm AEST.
