- Firefinch (FFX) has made a new gold discovery just 250 metres south of the K3 prospect in Mali
- The K3 prospect is part of the Massigui Project that adjoins the 685-square-kilometre Morila gold mine area
- After Firefinch completed an aircore drilling program at K3, one drill hole returned an intercept of 21 metres at 13.45 g/t gold from 110 metres
- Within this, were two very high-grade zones which returned grades of 16.1g/t and 46.45g/t gold
- Firefinch believes this demonstrates the Morila area’s potential to host another gold system, and further drilling is planned to follow up these results

Firefinch (FFX) has made a new gold discovery just 250 metres south of the K3 prospect in Mali, West Africa.
The K3 prospect lies within the Finkola permit which is part of the Massigui Project that adjoins the 685-square-kilometre Morila gold mine area.
At the end of last year, the company completed an aircore drilling program which targeted anomalous gold.
One of the drill holes, KOTRC128, returned an intercept of 21 metres at 13.45 g/t gold from 110 metres. Within this, were two very high-grade zones which returned results including four metres at 46.45g/t gold from 114 metres and three metres at 16.1g/t gold from 121 metres.
“Of course, we are only just getting started, but what a fantastic early result from our drilling campaign,” Dr Michael Anderson said.
“Finding and delineating a new potential source of oxide mill feed, on a tenement that is already moving through the process of gaining an exploitation license, will provide additional flexibility to our mill start up,” he added.
Firefinch believes this discovery is a testament to the Morila area’s potential to host another gold system.
The company plans to conduct further drilling to test the area immediately north, south, and east of the intercept.
