Gateway Mining (GML) has begun reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Gidgee Gold Project in Western Australia.

Around 4000 metres of RC drilling has been planned to infill the northern strike extent of the Achilles North Prospect and extend the footprint for the upcoming maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE).

Drilling will also test the northern extensions of the Evermore Deposit which remains open.

Work is expected to take roughly three weeks to complete with results to be included in the current MRE.

Gateway is also waiting on results from a recently completed aircore drilling program that tested several targets along the margin of the Montague Granodiorite.

The first batch of results are expected in the next one to two weeks.

Managing Director Mark Cossom is pleased to begin drilling at the project.

“We are pleased to have a rig back in the field at Gidgee to finish off some important in-fill and extensional drilling at the Achilles North and Evermore prospects,” Mr Cossom commented.

“We are also expecting a large volume of assay results over the coming weeks from the recently completed 22,000 metre aircore program. This should provide us with some important insights into the next-generation of targets that will provide our next horizon of resource growth.”

Shares in Gateway were up 6.67 per cent on the market and were trading at 1.6 cents at 11:05 am AEST.
