  • Gateway Mining (GML) has restarted field activities at its Gidgee Gold Project, located to the northeast of Mount Magnet in Western Australia
  • Field activities were temporarily paused due to COVID-19 restrictions, during which time the company compiled and interpreted all data sets for Gidgee
  • This enabled Gateway to generate new exploration targets which will be drill-tested in upcoming exploration programs
  • Exploration will also include a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Whistler and Montague Gold Deposits with the aim of expanding its mineral resources
  • Further RC drilling will be carried out at the Kashmir prospect and in the area of the Achilles target

Gateway Mining (GML) has restarted field activities at its Gidgee Gold Project, northeast of Mount Magnet in Western Australia.

Field activities were temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions, however, Gateway sought to optimise this time and compiled and interpreted all data sets for the project.

This enabled Gateway to develop a more comprehensive understanding of existing deposits and to identify several prospective areas around the Montague Dome. A number of targets were generated and will be reverse circulation (RC) and air core drill-tested.

A surface geochemical sampling program was also completed over the Montague Dome and samples have been submitted to the laboratory.

Gateway will soon commence a number of other exploration programs at Gidgee. These will include an RC drilling program at the Whistler and Montague deposits to expand the Mineral Resource Estimate of 1.7 megatonnes at 2.23 grams per tonne for 120,000 ounces of gold.

Specifically at Whistler, drilling will test southern extensions to the resource over a 400-metre strike length. At Montague, drilling will test near-surface strike extensions to the resource as well as include a series of reconnaissance traverses along the margins of the granodiorite to the north and south of the resource.

Futher, a maiden RC drilling program will be carried out at the Kashmir prospect to test for the northern extent of the strike which is already known to span 1.8 kilometres.

Finally, exploration will include drilling at the Achilles target which remains open at depth and to the north.

Gateway Mining share price rose 16.7 per cent today to close at 1.4 cents per share.
