Gateway Mining (GML) has made a number of changes to its management team to drive growth at its Gidgee Gold Project in WA.

First up is the immediate transfer of Managing Director Peter Langworthy into the newly created role of Executive Chairman.

Peter is one of Western Australia’s best known mining executives with a career spanning more than 34 years in project development and mineral exploration.

He has worked with the likes of Capricorn Metals (CMM), Northern Star Resources (NSR), Pioneer Resources and Falcon Minerals.

In this new role, Peter will provide his technical, geological and corporate experience to grow and expand Gidgee.

He will also undertake a broader strategic role with a focus on business development, growth and strategic opportunities.

Next is the transfer of Mark Cossom from Executive Technical Director to Managing Director.

In this position, Mark will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of Gateway and the exploration programs at Gidgee.

Mark joined the board as Executive Technical Director in 2019, a role in which he devised exploration strategies which lead to multiple high-grade discoveries.

Further, Trent Franklin, Debra Fullarton and Scott Brown have retained their roles as Non-Executive Directors.

These three individuals have more than 50 years of experience between them in project management and business development.

Gateway has also announced that its operations office has moved from Subiaco in Western Australia to Sydney, NSW effective immediately.

“In many respects this marks the beginning of a really exciting new chapter for Gateway as we move forward to realise our ambition of building a significant mid-tier Australian gold company,” Peter commented.

“Thanks to the hard work and achievements of the past few years, we now have a high degree of confidence that Gidgee is an asset capable of delivering transformational growth for our shareholders over the next few years,” he said.

“The board and management changes announced today will ensure that we are appropriately structured from a personnel perspective to deliver that growth,” he added.

Gateway is steady on the market and shares are trading at 3.2 cents at 12:18 pm AEDT.
