West African gold explorer Golden Rim Resources (GMR) has received further results from its Kada Gold Project in Guinea.

The Kada Project consists of two exploration permits which cover an area of 200 square kilometres in the central Siguiri Basin.

Results were received from two diamond and six reverse circulation (RC) holes which were drilled to help define a maiden mineral resource.

The results have proven encouraging to GMR with significant gold mineralisation intersected in seven of the eight holes.

Best results include 20 metres at 2.4 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) from 79 metres including one metre at 12.9g/t gold from 86 metres; and seven metres at 2.2g/t gold from 99 metres including one metre at 12.7g/t gold from 99 metres.

Managing Director, Craig Mackay, commented on the drilling program.

“Our first round of resource definition drilling at Kada has filled in many of the gaps in the previous Newmont drilling and discovered additional oxide gold mineralisation,” Mr Mackay said.

“This high-value gold mineralisation remains open in all directions and is our focus moving forward.”

Golden Rim expects to begin a second round of drilling in late September to early October which will focus on gaps in the current drilling program.

Additionally, a further 10,000 metres of auger drilling is planned to extend the auger coverage in the east of Kada with work expected to begin in November.

Shares in Golden Rim were steady on the market and were trading at 0.8 cents at 12:45 pm AEST.
