  • Recently the company celebrated acquiring Williment Travel – an NZ sports and events travel specialist founded over 50 years ago

Leading travel company, Helloworld Travel has announced a number of corporate agencies and travel brokers will join its New Zealand retail network.

These organisations are joining Helloworld Travel after the break up of First Travel Group, which they were former members of.

Helloworld Travel CEO and Managing Director, Andrew Burnes said: “The team in New Zealand has done an outstanding job of building a strong value proposition which in turn has attracted these new agencies to our networks.”

Gilpin Travel, Barlow Travel and Atlas Corporate have all now joined the Helloworld Travel NZ network. Together, their combined annual Total Transaction Value equates to NZ$130 million. With other agencies joining from June 2019, bringing in an annual TTV of NZ$46 million.

Last week, the company purchased the entirety of Williment Travel, a well-established sports and events travel specialist. Helloworld Travel considered this a major achievement.

“The Williment team adds a new dimension to our New Zealand business and will allow us to open up the amazing offerings Williment has to the market via our Helloworld network members,” Andrew said.

Williment Travel equally believe its business will benefit from the acquisition and that it will broaden its ‘product range and distribution options.’

In total, the Helloworld Travel NZ network will boast an annualised TTV of approximately NZ$300 million. This represents over 65 per cent of the former First Travel Group’s TTV. The company now has a total of 580 agency members.
