Latin Resources (LRS) has begun aircore drilling at its Noombenberry Kaolin-Halloysite Project in Western Australia.

The 54-square-kilometre Noombenberry Project lies 300 kilometres east of Perth and is prospective for kaolinite and halloysite.

Maiden aircore drilling intersected kaolin which measures up to 50 metres thick and remains open to the north, south, east and west.

The aim of this drilling program is to extend the Cloud Nine Kaolin-Halloysite Deposit which has an inferred mineral resource of 207 million tonnes.

Additionally, work will test for kaolinised granitic material a further 4.5 kilometres to the north of the Cloud Nine Deposit.

Roughly 3700 metres will be drilled on a 400-metre-by-400-metre grid pattern.

Drilling is expected to be completed by early July and will be immediately followed up with infill drilling.

“With the drilling rig back out on site, we are looking forward to the potential of significantly expanding our Cloud Nine Halloysite-Kaolin Deposit,” Exploration Manager Tony Greenaway commented.

“We are testing a new area that is equal in size to the footprint of the existing Cloud Nine resource, so there is significant potential for resource growth.

“We will also be completing some infill drilling within the existing inferred resource, with the aim of better defining some of the known high-grade zones and increasing our confidence levels to enable an upgrade to indicated or measured status.”

Latin was up 4.08 per cent on the market with shares trading at 5.1 cents at 4:02 pm AEST.
