Latin Resources (LRS) has dubbed its final batch of results from drilling at the Colina prospect within its Salinas lithium project in Brazil “outstanding”.

The company undertook resource definition drilling at the prospect, confirming high-grade lithium continuity at depth and along strike.

Latin said the results were consistent with previously-announced grades and thicknesses of spodumene-bearing pegmatites at Colina.

Highlights from the program included 10.91 metres at 1.52 per cent lithium oxide, including five metres at 2.01 per cent lithium oxide.

Further results also included 8.7 metres at 2.16 per cent lithium oxide, including 5.7 metres at 2.66 per cent lithium oxide.

These results will now be included in the company’s maiden mineral resource estimate for the Colina prospect, which remains on track for delivery in December.

Latin Resources Exploration Manager Tony Greenaway said the results continued to showcase the consistent nature of the pegmatite mineralisation at Colina.

“With the mineral resource estimate drilling completed at Colina, the rigs can shift their focus to the recently-discovered Colina West pegmatites with the aim of incorporating this second area into the PEA and other studies that the company has underway,” Mr Greenaway said.

Meanwhile, the company has begun a series of metallurgical testwork programs at Colina, with initial first-pass sighter testwork already showing a “high” recovery of 78.72 per cent of the lithium oxide into a concentrate grading at 6.57 per cent lithium oxide.

Further sighter testwork is underway, with additional samples en route to a laboratory for analysis.

Latin Resources shares were up 5 per cent to 10.5 cents at 10:49 am AEDT.
