Magnum Mining and Exploration (MGU) has appointed Chris Tanner as Project Manager for its Buena Vista iron project in Nevada, USA.
Mr Tanner previously worked on the Buena Vista iron mine under Magnum’s predecessor, Nevada Iron. His role involved transitioning the project from scoping study level to feasibility study, ensuring permits were in place and negotiating infrastructure agreements.
Prior to the new appointment, he has held previous senior roles at Rio Tinto Kennecott, Coeur D’Alene Mines and Hycroft Resources.
Mr Tanner is based in Nevada, and in his new role will take responsibility for the short development and construction of a pilot plant on the Buena Vista site, prior to its proposed expansion to the full-scale production facility.
“Chris Tanner’s broad and extensive experience provides him with the tools to tackle the Buena Vista Iron Project,” Magnum CEO Neil Goodman said.
