Marvel Gold (MVL) has recorded positive drill results at its Tabakorole Gold Project in southern Mali.

Eight reverse circulation (RC) drill holes at the site returned broad intersections, including hole 21TBKRC010, which recorded 40 metres at 1 gram per tonne gold, including seven metres at 2.2 grams per tonne gold from 86 metres.

Another hole, 21TBKRC005, returned 33 metres at 1.1 per tonne gold from 84 metres, including 10 metres at 2.3 grams per tonne gold from 84 metres.

Marvel anticipates these holes to increase the confidence of the resource estimation within the deposit, in areas of sparse historical drilling.

Two more of the eight RC holes also returned significant intercepts.

In addition, Marvel is awaiting laboratory results for another 20 RC drill hole samples from the site, which it expects to deliver imminently.

Marvel Gold Managing Director Phil Hoskins said the company is pleased with the consistent widths and grades found in the southeastern part of the deposit.

“Many of the holes drilled in this program, within the existing strike, have exceeded expectations and are expected to enhance the size and grade of the resource. These holes continue that theme,” he said.

“Excellent metallurgical test results and continued exploration success have seen Tabakorole emerge as a significant deposit, with results of recent drilling expected to grow the mineral resource beyond one million ounces,” Phil added.

Since completing RC drilling at the project, the gold explorer has also completed a five-hole diamond drilling program in the southeast of the deposit and is expecting to report the results in April.

In addition, Marvel has commenced a 6000-metre air core program to the southeast of the deposit to further target the area’s strike potential.

An extensive geochemistry program undertaken across the project license area and adjacent tenements, Sirakourou and Solabougouda, has identified targets for follow-up.

Marvel Gold shares are up 4.26 per cent, trading at 4.9 cents at 5:16 pm AEDT.
