Morella Corporation (1MC) has completed its first on-ground works at the North Big Smoky lithium project in Nevada.
The company recently secured the project through an earn-in arrangement and launched a detailed soils program shortly thereafter.
The program, designed to focus on the western half of the project area, sourced 272 samples via the use of a powered auger, which allowed for sampling at a depth of up to 1.37 metres below surface.
In some instances, caliche or calcrete was intercepted by the auger, during which points the field crew utilised small hand tools to ensure adequate sample depth was achieved.
All samples have now been prepared and are on the way to an independent laboratory for analysis.
Morella said it expected to receive assay results within two months.
Meanwhile, the company has also scheduled an initial magnetotelluric (MT) survey at North Big Smoky to identify sub-surface areas of mineral concentration.
The combination of the MT survey and soils program will shape and guide future exploration efforts at North Big Smoky.
Morella Corporation was up 8.33 per cent, trading at 2.6 cents at 12:50 pm AEST.
