MSM Corporation International’s (MSM) strategic partner, Riva Technology, and Entertainment’s Esport’s company, Galaxy Resources, is hosting an Australian Esports tournament for the first time
The Australian tournament will begin with a qualifier event on April 18 and continue with streamed finals on Galaxy Racer’s Twitch channel over the following two days. A $10,000 prize pool is being offered, the biggest independent prize pool for the Oceana region.
Participants of the tournament will include many of Oceania’s top 20 professional trios, plus ten amateur teams, vying to win the right to challenge them.
Riva, which has held a 10 per cent equity interest in Galaxy Racer since June 2020, entered an agreement to manage all its Esports platforms and tournaments, including the management of the Megastar Version 2.0 platform which will deliver Esports content.
This follows the recently announced proposed merger with Riva, subject to re-compliance with the admission and quotation requirements.
“Australia is generally underrepresented in Esports, but it has enormous potential,” said RTE Director and Galaxy Racer CEO, Paul Roy.
“We are investing in the entire esports ecosystem of Oceania, just as we did in the Middle East, South East Asia and Europe, building some of the biggest teams and players worldwide, while making sure that we start at a grassroots level and build around it.”
MSM Corporation shares last traded at 5.9 cents on 14 April.
