Medical device maker Nuheara (NUH) has extended the commercial availability of its HP Hearing Pro self-fitting over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aid through CVS Health’s US website.

CVS will now offer the Nuheara product online for customers of its network of over 9600 retail stores.

NUH said its HP Hearing PRO product was the only hearing aid device cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a self-fitting product manufactured in a “convenient and innovative” earbud style.

“CVS.com offering HP Hearing PRO will benefit the over 40 million Americans who experience mild-moderate hearing loss,” NUH Co-founder and Managing Director Justin Miller said.

“Accessibility to hearing health is a core part of Nuheara’s mission, and that’s why HP Hearing PRO is the only FDA-cleared self-fitting OTC hearing aid that’s available today for both iOS and Android platforms, alongside the many features that earned the HP Hearing PRO multiple awards at CES earlier this year.”

NUH said CVS.com was a leading provider of cost-friendly healthcare solutions for millions of Americans, and the extension of its benefits as a trusted online pharmacy enabled easy online ordering for NUH consumers.

NUH shares were down 6.25 per cent to 15 cents at 1:16 pm AEST.
