Peak Minerals (PUA) has commenced the second phase of aircore drilling at the Green Rocks project in Western Australia.

Drilling is aimed at testing geochemical and geophysical anomalies at the Tal Val and Target B areas, which are believed to be magmatic intrusions.

The phase one program was undertaken at the end of last year and included over 2400 metres at the Rixon, West Copper Hills and Target C areas.

“Phase two of the aircore drill program is an important next step in recognising Tal Val and Target B as part of the Lady Alma Igneous Complex,” CEO Jennifer Neild.

“We’ve worked out the geochemistry at Rixon and we can apply this characterisation to Tal Val and Target B effectively reducing work timeframes,” she said.

The company hopes assays will confirm the presence of the Lady Alma Igneous Complex, map geology and contacts and confirm the presence or potential for magmatic sulphides.

Once the second phase is completed and the heli-electromagnetic (EM) data has been processed, Peak will create a detailed geological model which will refine the position of the ground geophysical survey to map disseminated sulphides and confirm conductors.

A detailed EM/induced polarisation program is expected to commence in the June quarter.

PUA shares were trading 8.33 per cent higher at 1.3 cents at 1:25 pm AEDT.
