Regional Express (REX) subsidiary airline Pel-Air has entered into a contract with the New South Wales Ambulance. The contract’s operational phase will begin in January 2022, and has s expected to last for 10 years.

Under the contract, Pel-Air will provide the NSW Ambulance with 5 fixed-wing aircraft, pilots, and engineering support. This will enable the aerial transport of NSW Ambulance’s medical personnel and patients in NSW’s regional communities.

In 2009, Pel-Air was awarded a similar deal with Ambulance Victoria, who recently extended the contract until 2023.

Pel-Air Chairman, the Honourable John Sharp, AM, commented on the contract. “This award is a clear recognition of Pel-Air’s undisputed ability to provide safe, reliable, and high-quality aeromedical services on fixed-wing aircraft, at the most competitive prices.”

Regional Express shares are currently trading at $1.08 apiece.
