Pel-Air Aviation has been awarded a two year contract extension with Fixed Wing Air Ambulance Services, from Ambulance Victoria

Pel-Air Aviation is contracted to supply, fit out, maintain and operate four Beechcraft King Air B200 aircraft in Essendon, Victoria. The new agreement is now contracted to June 2023.

Ambulance Victoria’s fleet of five helicopters and four aeroplanes provide a vital link between rural communities and metropolitan health services.

The airline has been operating the 24/7 service from 1 July 2011 and has 36 staff including pilots, engineers, apprentices, operations and support staff. The ambulance aircraft recently clocked up 40,000 flying hours.

“Pel-Air is honoured to be granted the contract extension and looks forward to continuing supporting Ambulance Victoria in providing valuable fixed-wing aeromedical transfers to the Victorian community,” Rex Executive Chairman Lim Kim Hai, said.

Rex is the largest independent regional airline operating 1,500 weekly flights to 60 destinations across Australia.
