Scorpion Minerals (SCN) has begun reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Pharos Project in Western Australia.
Pharos lies 50 kilometres northwest of Cue in the Murchison district and covers an area of 640 square kilometres.
Despite multiple companies having held tenure in the area, no systematic exploration has been undertaken due to varied ownership and changing focus from gold to base metals to iron ore.
This has resulted in incomplete programs, particularly for gold exploration.
Scorpion’s drill program will initially focus on confirming and defining historical intersections of gold as well as recent workings showing gold mineralisation.
The first hole at the Beacon Prospect has been completed and samples have been submitted for fire assay analysis.
Furthermore, metal detecting completed in the surrounding area has identified two small gold specimens and two samples of vein quartz containing free gold.
Results will be announced as soon as they are analysed and Scorpion is intending to make multiple announcements during this drill program.
Scorpion has ended the day a healthy 13.6 per cent in the green with shares trading for 7.5 cents each in a $13.63 million market cap.
