SI6 Metals (SI6) has hit wide zones of gold at its Monument Gold project (MGP) in Western Australia.

The company has received the final assay results from its phase two aircore drilling program, which consisted of 130 drill holes over five prospect areas.

Overall, the drilling intersected a wide range of prospective lithologies including granite, porphyry, gabbro, dolerite, ultramafic, sediment and felsic volcanic.

The latest results come from the North Well, Celia and Aermotor prospects, which returned numerous mineralised intercepts of over 0.1 grams of gold per tonne over an eight-kilometre strike.

Specifically, at North Well, aircore drilling returned eight metres at 0.98 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) from 56 metres downhole, including four metres at 1.8 g/t gold.

The mineralisation here remains open along-strike to the northwest and southeast.

To the southeast, SI6 notes only ten per cent of the strike area had been covered by historic surface sampling and drilling, while the greater portion of the corridor remained to be explored.

Drilling at the Aermotor prospect, which targeted between a sedimentary and mafic volcanic sequence, intersected four metres at 0.12 g/t from 36 metres and remains open to the southeast.

SI6 said the results from both North Well and Aermotor demonstrated that “significant potential” remained across the project area for “bulk-tonnage intrusion-hosted and high grade, vein-hosted gold mineralisation”.

The company is now planning infill and extensional drilling at north Well, due to commence in October.

Other targets have been identified at Fred’s Well, and SI6 also plans to test a number of nickel targets across the project, including extensions from Glencore’s Murrin Murrin operation.

Additionally, one-metre re-splits of composite drill intercepts over 0.2 g/t from the phase two drilling campaign have been collected and submitted to ALS Kalgoorlie for fire assay gold analysis.

This work is being undertaken to validate the mineralised intercepts and identify individual samples containing the best gold mineralisation.

On receipt of the assays, SI6 will start further fieldwork to identify the nature and style of the gold mineralisation to help navigate future drill programs.

SI6 shares were trading grey at 0.7 cents at 3:05 pm AEST.
