Tasmania-focused tin explorer Stellar Resources (SRZ) has reported “outstanding” tin results from its Heemskirk tin project.

The assay results come from the first infill hole completed this year, ZS148, and is the second-best intercept ever recorded at the Severn prospect.

Results include 34.9 metres at 1.01 per cent tin from 333 metres, including 8.6 metres at 1.66 per cent tin and 12.7 metres at 1.19 per cent tin from 355.3 metres.

Stellar said this intercept is significantly thicker than the currently defined mineral resource interpretation at this location.

Results from the second infill hole, ZS149, extended the tin mineralisation down dip of the currently defined mineral resource near the southern margin of the deposit with significant intercepts including 5 metres at 0.73 per cent tin from 372 metres and 2.1 metres at 1.8 per cent tin from 391 metres.

The company is currently drilling with the aim of expanding Severn’s indicated mineral resource.

Stellar said the phase 2A drilling program is progressing well, with 2057 metres out of the planned 3130 metres completed. Further results are expected over the coming months.

“We are extremely excited by the results from drill hole ZS148 which highlights the potential for further thick, high-grade zones within the mineral resource at Severn, the
largest of the Heemskirk tin project deposits,” Executive Director Gary Fietz said.

“The phase 2A drill program is progressing well, with all results expected to be incorporated into the mineral resource update in October in preparation for a scoping study update in November.”

SRZ shares were up 17.7 per cent this morning, trading at 2 cents each at 10:10 am AEST.
