Western Australia’s largest mining conference Diggers and Dealers is approaching, taking place from 5-7 August.
Over 2000 attendees are set to flock to the state’s gold capital, Kalgoorlie, where the meeting takes place.
The annual event, in its 28th year, attracts some of the biggest ASX-listed mining and exploration companies, alongside brokers, bankers and investors.
The calendar staple for those in the sector gives delegates a chance to present and exhibit exciting findings and new projects at their companies. And gives the industry professionals a chance to network.
Fifty companies are listed to speak over the three days and nearly 150 exhibits will be on display.
Over the course of the conference a number of ASX 200 listers will be heard from, including mining giants Rio Tinto and BHP.
Other notable presenters include Kirkland Lake Gold’s Vice President for Australian relations Ian Holland. The Canadian and Australian based mining company’s share price is worth $67.00 a piece.
Newcrest Minings General Manager for exploration Fraser MacCorquodale is also set to speak, representing one of the nations major mining and exploration companies. Newcrest’s share price currently sits at $35.42 per share.
Attendees will hear from former Prime Minister John Howard, this years keynote speaker, on day one.
Australia’s second longest serving Prime Minister is known for achieving economic growth, tax reforms and trade partnerships.
Diggers and Dealers Chairman Nick Giorgetta said: “Mr Howard is uniquely qualified to deliver an educated overview of the economic implications for the resources industry.”
At the closing gala dinner, a series of awards are presented acknowledging the year’s high achievers. These include the G.J Stokes Memorial Award, the Digger Award, the Dealer award, Best Emerging Company and the Media Award.
The conference boasts wide coverage, featuring 50 media representatives.
