Venus Metals (VMC) has commenced reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Youanmi base metals project in Western Australia.

The 2500-metre drill program is being conducted at the Pincher Well zinc-copper prospect and is targeting a historical strong induced polarisation (IP) anomaly.

The anomaly is in the southern part of the Pincher Dome volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) system and has not been properly tested in previous drilling.

The VMS area has been covered by an electromagnetic (EM) survey, in which geology was interpreted to have sulphide‐rich sediments with potentially higher concentrations of chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite.

The drilling will also test three historical EM conductors, which remain untested at depth and along strike.

Shares were trading flat at 17 cents each at 11:12 am AEST.
