- The discovery follows a 2893-sample program completed in February, which targeted high-priority areas along 18 kilometres of strike on the Gilmore Suture
- Initial results included 100 parts per billion (ppb) gold over 500 metres of strike and 30 ppb contour over 700 metres
- Meanwhile, Wildcat recorded a peak value over 350 ppb in the main anomaly in addition to a nearby peak value of 800 ppb as a discrete anomaly to the rest of the main region
- WC8 has received 40 per cent of assays from the program so far and expects to receive full results in the coming weeks
- Wildcat Resources shares are up 5.77 per cent, trading at 2.8 cents each
Wildcat Resources (WC8) has defined a new gold soil anomaly over 1.3 kilometres of strike at the Highway Prospect at its Mt Adrah Gold Project in NSW.
The discovery is the result of a 2893-sample program completed in February.
The program sampled soil in high-priority areas along 18 kilometres of strike on the Gilmore Suture, focusing on six main areas, and generally extended coverage from soil sampling conducted in May and June last year.
Only nine holes have been drilled historically in the vicinity, with one reverse circulation hole intersecting six metres at 1.93 grams per tonne gold.
Initial results from recent sampling returned gold contour at 100 parts per billion (ppb) over 500 metres of strike and 30 ppb over 700 metres.
Meanwhile, the discoverer recorded a peak value over 350 ppb gold in the main anomaly, as well as a nearby anomalous peak value of 800 ppb as a discrete anomaly to the rest of the main region.
Executive Director Matthew Banks said Wildcat’s strategy is to drill high-ranking targets that have scale and are capable of new discoveries.
“The company is excited about this compelling Highway target in this under-explored gold system, as it may be one of many,” Matthew said.
“We look forward to receiving final soil assays and moving into the drilling phase in the very near future.”
So far, Wildcat has received 40 per cent of the assays and expects to receive full results in the coming weeks.
Based on the results, the company’s technical team will rank the area’s regional exploration targets for possible drill testing, with documentation for the upcoming program already underway.
Wildcat Resources shares have climbed 5.77 per cent higher, trading at 2.8 cents each at 1:08 pm AEDT.
